explore the Stevens pass Greenway

Highway 2 between Monroe and Peshastin

The Stevens Pass Greenway is part of the larger Cascade Loop and passes through two national forests: the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Designated as a national scenic byway in 2005, the route travels through the Skykomish Valley and over Stevens Pass. Discover rivers, mountain peaks, waterfalls, scenic viewpoints, and plenty of hiking trails along the way. While the official byway spans from Monroe to Peshastin, travelers often connect in Mukilteo or Everett and end in Wenatchee to the east.

Time Your Trip: While Stevens Pass can close temporarily in winter due to heavy snow, this Washington State scenic byway is typically open for travel year-round. If traveling during the winter, check the Washington State Department of Transportation’s mountain pass conditions page before heading out.
