explore the Chuckanut Drive Scenic Byway
State Route 11 between the Skagit Valley and Bellingham
Opened in 1916, this stretch of highway is recognized as one of Washington’s earliest scenic drives. Originally built as a logging road in the 1890s to connect the Skagit Valley to the growing community of Bellingham, this short but sweet route runs through rich farmland before winding along the shoreline, offering views of the San Juan Islands and passing by Larrabee State Park.
Time Your Trip: Chuckanut Drive is open for travel year-round.
