explore the Cape Flattery Scenic Byway

State Route 112 from the eastern edge of the Makah Indian Reservation to Cape Flattery

Located on the Makah Indian Reservation, the Cape Flattery Scenic Byway is the first tribal road to receive national scenic status. Although it is the shortest scenic byway in Washington State, the 12 miles of winding road offer extraordinary views on the way to the northwesternmost point of the contiguous United States. Learn about Native traditions and culture with a visit to the Makah Museum, hike the Cape Flattery Trail to view dramatic waves, and more.

A Makah Recreation Permit must be displayed in your vehicle while enjoying outdoor activities along the byway.

Time Your Trip: While the byway is typically open to the public year-round, the Makah Indian Reservation occasionally has restricted access, so check before heading out.
