Sponsored by Olympia Farmers Market

About the sponsor: Olympia Farmers Market is one of the only vendor-operated farmers markets in Washington. Their mission is to support small-scale local agriculture and provide a vibrant gathering place with direct access to fresh food.

The Olympia Farmers Market highlights the best that Thurston, Mason, Lewis, and Grays Harbor counties have to offer. Vendors producing farm goods, artisanal treats, and handcrafted art flock to the Capitol city each week with something fresh. Open year round, the Market is there to help you find unique flavors that represent Washington State.

Discover the Olympia Farmers Market

All 120+ vendor businesses hail from the four-county boundary, and booths are often operated by the business owner, meaning you’ll connect with the individual who created the items on display.

Eight Onsite Restaurants

At the height of the season, eight restaurants provide daily breakfast and brunch options. In between shopping, grab a bite and enjoy lunch in the Market’s garden or at the picnic pavilion. Daily live music provides entertainment and a showcase of local artists from the surrounding Olympia area.

Food options abound. Try menu items that feature ingredients sourced from other Market vendors. For example: customizable grain bowls from Mother’s Roots Kitchen are packed with veggies from local farms. Additionally, Madeline’s Bavarian Wurst, the longest running restaurant at the Market, uses cinnamon bread from Wagner’s Bakery and Johnson Berry Farm jam to create their “Full Monte” sandwich.

Iconic Washington-Grown Fruit

Savor the season: Whether you’re preserving flats of berries or pickling cucumbers, home canners will want to visit the Market to stock up on seasonal goods from Western to Eastern Washington. Eastern Washington is represented with seasonal displays of fruit. Farmers from the other side of the Cascades grow produce that is not widely available on the western side of the state. A sampling of this produce is sold at the Market to compliment local offerings.

In spring, expect asparagus, Walla Walla onions, and sweet cherries. Summer brings melons, peppers, peaches, and stone fruit. In the fall, crisp apples, pears, cranberries, and grapes create excitement for comforting cold-season meals. You will be pleased to discover the diversity of fresh fruit that Washington has to offer.

In addition to a wide variety of flavors, local artists display their unique creations at the Market each week. Artists at the Market craft handmade and original pieces with high-quality materials. No reselling is allowed, meaning all goods are truly local and created with care by the vendors offering them. A diverse range of potters, woodworkers, jewelers, glass artists, painters, and more make up the 40+ artists who vend at the Market each year.
