Discover The Scale House Market
A Taste of the Inland Northwest

The moment you step through the doors, you’re greeted by the energy of hundreds of local makers and small businesses sharing one vibrant space. The aroma of fresh sourdough drifts through the market as colorful produce, handcrafted gifts, fresh flowers, locally raised meats, handmade cheeses, and small-batch sauces crafted from recipes passed down through generations fill every corner. Nearly everything you’ll find has been grown, raised, crafted, or produced within just a few miles of the market.
One stop might introduce you to sustainably raised chicken from Link’d Hearts Ranch, while another offers handcrafted sourdough from Smidge Farms. Pick up locally made chamoy candy from La Pica Chica, fresh produce from Vets on the Farm, dairy products from Columbia Community Creamery, or natural body care from Flourish Botanicals. Every purchase directly supports the families, entrepreneurs, and makers who call the Inland Northwest home.
A Place to Gather

Situated on Spokane Conservation District’s 50-acre Quarry Campus, visitors can enjoy open gathering spaces, art, rotating outdoor markets, and a welcoming environment. It’s the kind of place where a quick stop easily turns into an afternoon spent discovering local treasures, sharing a meal, and making memories with family and friends.
Adding to the experience is Home, an 11-piece mural series by Spokane artist Michael Che Romero. Stretching throughout the mercantile, the collection serves as a love letter to the place that raised him. The artwork transforms the market into a gallery showcasing the culture and creativity of Eastern Washington.
From Quarry to Community Hub

Once an active gravel quarry, the Spokane Conservation District purchased the property in 2017 with a vision of transforming an industrial site into an example of sustainability, education, and innovation.
While some old infrastructure was removed, the 43,000-square-foot building that once housed the scales used to weigh quarry materials has been thoughtfully reimagined into the vibrant public market visitors experience today. Its name pays tribute to that history while celebrating the future.
More Than a Full Basket

In its first year, The Scale House Market welcomed over 180 vendors and hosted hundreds of culinary and educational workshops. Fresh seasonal products and unique events arrive throughout the year, giving visitors a reason to keep coming back.
But part of what makes The Scale House Market so special isn’t found on the shelves. It’s the conversations with the rancher who raised your steak. The baker pulling fresh loaves from the oven. The local musician providing the soundtrack to your afternoon. The chef sharing family recipes during a cooking class.
“The whole goal of this place is to create a hub for the community as far as food security, education, and connection to our local agriculture,” says Market Director Brittany Tyler.
Built with intention and heart, The Scale House Market proves that shopping local can be meaningful and memorable. Whether you’re visiting for fresh ingredients, handcrafted goods, live entertainment, or family activities, you’ll leave with more than a full basket. You’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for the people, flavors, and stories that make the Inland Northwest unlike anywhere else.
