Traditional competition meets global celebration
As part of the World Cup celebrations, we will host a traditional Stick Game tournament – bringing together community, culture, and friendly competition. Historically used for everything from entertainment to trade to conflict resolution, stick game is a vital piece of Coast Salish tradition. Accompanied by singing and drumming, stick game embodies the joy, strategy, and resilience that have united Coast Salish people for generations.
During the World Cup, the Puyallup Tribe will host a multi-day Stick Game Tournament, welcoming teams and spectators to experience this powerful cultural tradition.
