First held in 1969, Holland Happening is one of Oak Harbor’s longest-running and most beloved festivals. Created to honor the early Dutch settlers who helped found the town, the event has evolved to celebrate the many cultures represented in Oak Harbor today.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Klompen Canal, where decorated miniature wooden shoes race to the finish. There will be a wooden shoe carver demonstrating techniques that have been used for centuries in the Netherlands. Attendees can also expect approximately 70 vendors, along with a beer garden, live music, and cultural performances.
